According to the Shambhala tradition, there is a natural source of radiance and brilliance in the world, which is the innate wakefulness of human beings. This is the basis, in myth and inspiration, of the Kingdom of Shambhala, an enlightened society of fearlessness, dignity and compassion.

Shambhala Buddhism follows a well-defined graduated method of practice and study based on Tibetan Buddhism as taught in the West by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and the Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. Emphasis is placed on joining the view and practice of Buddhism with everyday life. A recognition of one's own interest and level of commitment is encouraged.

Shambhala Training begins with a series of workshops (Levels I-V) based on the premise that basic human wisdom exists in everyone without exception. When uncovered and cultivated through meditation practice we are able to live our lives genuinely. Historically, this wisdom has manifested in many cultures and does not belong to any particular culture, religion or tradition.

We offer the opportunity to practice mindfulness-awareness sitting and walking meditation with others in a group setting. Retreats and training in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition are held several times a year.
